Each year, young men come together for a full day of workshops, mentorship, and real conversations — connecting with professionals and leaders who share the knowledge and inspiration to help them go further.

Our mission is to provide young men facing adversity in Northern & Central NJ with strong, enduring, professionally group mentoring relationships that will change their lives for the better. We partner with families, volunteers, organizations and the community at large to inspire positive change through education, scholarships, community enrichment, and other charitable activities.

The Young Men’s Empowerment Conference is an annual full-day program hosted by the Brothers of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. – Chi Sigma Chapter, in partnership with SCEI. The conference is designed to provide young men with access to meaningful mentorship, professional development, and community engagement through a structured, hands-on learning experience.

Each year, up to 250 young men participate in a series of interactive workshops led by a diverse group of community leaders, elected officials, entrepreneurs, and members of Chi Sigma Chapter. Workshop topics are intentionally broad, covering areas such as entrepreneurship, financial literacy, personal development, and civic responsibility — giving participants practical tools and inspiration they can carry beyond the conference.

Past conferences have featured distinguished facilitators and speakers, including New Jersey State Senator Troy Singleton and Keith Perrin and J. Alexander, Co-Founders of the global brand FUBU, who led a workshop on entrepreneurship and generational wealth building. Additional facilitators have included local elected officials, law enforcement professionals, business owners, and community advocates.

In addition to the workshops, participants receive meals and conference materials throughout the day, creating an environment where young men can learn, connect, and engage comfortably and without barriers.

The Young Men’s Empowerment Conference reflects Chi Sigma Chapter’s ongoing commitment to youth development and community investment — providing young men with the relationships, resources, and experiences needed to grow into confident, capable, and civically engaged individuals.
