On Saturday, June 6th, the Essex County Vocational Education Association (ECVEA), in partnership with the Sigma Community Enrichment Initiative (SCEI), hosted the 2026 Male Empowerment Conference at Essex County Newark Tech — and it was a powerful morning of connection, growth, and community.

From 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, young men in grades 9–12 came together for a conference centered on brotherhood, mentorship, and empowerment. Attendees took part in engaging workshops, fitness challenges, and giveaways — all designed to inspire confidence, build community, and equip the next generation of leaders with tools for success.

A special thank you to our community partners who made this event possible:

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. – Chi Sigma Chapter
NJ Association of Black Psychologists

Events like this remind us of the power of showing up for our young men — creating space for real conversations, positive role models, and brotherhood that extends far beyond a single Saturday morning.

Grateful to everyone who registered, volunteered, and poured into these young men. This is what community looks like.
